Safe storage requires specialized vessel design, materials selection, and operational protocols.<\/p>\n<h2>Phase Behavior and Storage Conditions<\/h2>\n<p>N\u2082O is stored as a liquid at ambient temperature under its own vapor pressure. At 20\u00b0C, the vapor pressure is approximately 50.5 bar; at 30\u00b0C it rises to approximately 66 bar. Storage vessels are typically designed for maximum allowable working pressures (MAWP) of 90\u2013100 bar.<\/p>\n<div class=\"chem-data-box\">\n<div class=\"label\">Vapor Pressure at 20\u00b0C<\/div>\n<div class=\"value\">50.5 bar<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Material Compatibility<\/h2>\n<p>Carbon steel and stainless steel (304, 316L) are acceptable for N\u2082O service. Copper alloys, aluminum, and certain elastomers may react with high-purity N\u2082O under elevated pressures.
